We had a King's Cake at work today and I found my baby in the last purple sliver left! Everyone was eating the cake all day looking for it. I wasn't going to have a piece, but when I heard no one had found the baby all day...I figured I'd try. Supposedly, if the baby is harmed within the year, it's bad luck for me. Good thing I'm not superstitious.

The customer is coming tomorrow. Why am I preparing the presentation for them today? Oh yeah, because no one said anything about a presentation until this morning!

I over-complicate things. I'm working on this costed bill of materials for work and I feel like punching the screen. I'm trying to modify the spreadsheet that was created by someone else and it just doesn't make any sense at all. I hate cleaning up other people's messes. But, I guess that's what I get paid to do. I will be so happy once this project is finished.

Okay, first of all, I am so pissed right now, because I had a lab test done on Friday and I have called my doctors THREE times to get the results. The first time, I talked to a nurse who told me that the result was "normal" but she couldn't tell me the number because it wasn't their office who scheduled it, it was the specialist's office. I called the specialist to get the results and the nurse there told me she would leave a message for the doctor and she would call me with the result. No one called me, so I called back today to get the result and was told that a nurse can't tell me the result unless "the doctor authorizes that." WTFFFF?!?!?!?! I told her, "It's my body, I'm authorizing you to give me the results." She refused and said I'd have to leave another message for the doctor. Seriously, wtf? What pisses me off the most is that the first nurse I talked to at my regular doctor's office was looking right at the result on her screen but couldn't just tell me the farking number, just that it was "normal".

Then, I was trying to take a picture of a test fixture we made for an electrical assembly and (knowing virtually nothing about electronics) I electrocuted myself! Because - the woman working on the project was too busy to take 2 seconds and set up the fixture for a picture.

Man alive, it was cold out there this morning! I'm just glad my car started right away now that I have new plugs and wires. However, I am on E. I just leave the house too late in the morning and I don't have time to stop for gas and then I don't feel like getting it on the way home. I will have to get some tonight, otherwise I'll probably break down.

I do not want to drive to work tomorrow (if this storm turns out to be as bad as they are predicting). The town in which I live is horrible at clearing roads after it snows. Even if there are only a few inches, the roads are treacherous. It's supposed to start snowing tonight, turn to freezing rain after lunch tomorrow and then during the evening commute we'll have freezing rain/snow/wind. Yay! I'm so excited that I'll be on the roads during that! I would just stay home, but we have a 'mandatory' seminar at work tomorrow. I'm hoping they cancel before the end of the day today. John should be able to get to work no problem since he's right down the street now. It would have been nice to spend Valentine's Day snowed in together. hahah...I've always wanted to use that smiley.

Would YOU want to drive on that in a little Honda Civic?

btw, this cd is really really good! I know he's all mainstream now, but it's quality, in my opinion.

Loves

Mikey is not too happy about the new addition to the family. He threw Julia's bib and hat into the garbage and threw his cup of milk into her crib. Also, when my stepmother was holding the baby, he walked over and pulled on her arm saying, "All done. All done. All done." He wants nothing to do with my stepmother or the baby. I'm sure he'll adjust. Here are a couple of cute pictures of them today.

I'm draggggging today. But, I am having fun listening to some old music from my jr. high days. I think the "Old School Mix" is one of the favorite folders on my M today.

Work is annoying. I really can't stand it when I am spoken to like I'm an idiot (whether it be intentional or not). I'm sick of being handed stuff that is done half-assed and then being blamed for it being sloppy. I'm not the one who did it! Then, I'm told, "You'll get the hang of it." Ohhhh...!

Oh, boy.

I had a dream the other night that John gave birth. I watched it. It was GRAPHIC. The baby's neck seemed to stretch for almost 2 feet before the doctors got the rest of the baby out and squished the body up into the neck and made it look normal. Within the day, the baby grew into a full-size man. I walked up to him and - puzzled - said, "But...You're not even 1 yet."

That's all I remember.

I had eaten a bit of chinese food just before bed...and we had just visited Julia, so I had baby on the brain I guess. I just don't understand why I watched John birth it...lol

We went to visit my new little sister Julia tonight! :) She slept the whole time and only made a few little oohs and ahhs (maybe annoyed by all the camera flashes)? hehe

It's weird, because she doesn't look like my Dad or Katherine...like Mikey did. So, instead of that instant recognization...there was more of a puzzled, "uh?". I kept staring at her trying to figure out where her features come from. I think she has the McEwen nose and lips. I hope she has our eyes too!
