Short and/or Sweet

Lost 5 pounds since Tuesday.
Have thus far been successful in resisting the Munchkins at work today. My boss has had 16 of the devilish little things. He was trying to figure out how many Munchkins comprise a donut. Now, he's planning on bringing in donuts and Munchkins on Monday so that we can weigh them and do an analysis so he'll know how many donuts he's eaten. Me and my big mouth had to mention that a plain glazed is far less dense than chocolate and this is true for both donuts and Munchkins, so he's bringing in a variety. I've resisted them today, I'm sure I can do it again on Monday!
Back to work!

It may keep the doctor away, but not the hunger pangs!

I have come to the conclusion that an apple is not a good mid-morning snack. It tastes delicious, but all it does is make me hungrier than I was before I even ate it! Seriously, like a half-hour after I eat it, my stomach is growling again!
Now I'm eating string cheese. It's delicious AND fun!

Great. Now my home is going to smell like a bunch of fruits!

Well, it's now Administrative Professionals Day and that means I deserve special treatment today. I got to work and found, on my desk, a big bag of Yankee Candles - One large housewarmer, a few votives, some of the little flowery-looking ones and a box of tealights all the same flavor - Fruit Smoothie! Yummmm! This is pretty exciting for me because I've never owned a Yankee Candle before, I always just buy the cheapies. In the bag was a note, it reads:
Happy Administrative Assistant Day!
You are technically not my Secretary or my Administrative Assistant, but since you do such a great job putting up with me, I wanted to make sure that you celebrated the day.
Thanks for doing such a great job!
Thanks and have a nice Administrative Assistant Day!
Da Boss
So - have I mentioned before how much I love working here? Sometimes I wonder if I think this guy is such a good boss only because I have worked for the WORST boss on the planet. He was a Napoleonic bastard who would literally scream at people at the top of his lungs so that his face was red and he was spitting. My current boss would never do that in a million years...he's way too cool.
That's all for now!

If I wanted to taste metal, I would have sucked a penny.

I had Curry Chicken for dinner on Sunday. I'm really picky about Chinese food, so it takes me at least 20 minutes to sort through the container and pluck out the chicken and whatever vegetables I like, in this case zucchini was the only one. About 17 minutes into the digging, I found an inch long curly piece of METAL. I kinda freaked out about it because well, it was metal that I might have ingested and it was pointy on the ends! Anyway, I'm scared of my own shadow, so I didn't call and complain or anything. I should have - when my mom was a little older than I am right now, she found a piece of solder in her egg roll. When she called to complain, they gave her a free egg roll. I could have gotten free "Metalled" Chicken Curry. Even though I checked to be sure there was no more metal in the food and found none, I couldn't really enjoy it after that. Plus, I swear all I could taste was metal after that.
Tomorrow is "Administrative Professionals Day"! As far as my boss is concerned, ALL the girls in the office are "Administrative Professionals", whether they're managers, part-timers, etc. Last year we all got cards and gifts, so I'm excited to come to work tomorrow because I'm getting something! It could be something gay like a gift certificate to Bath & Body Works or something...but I guess I'd find something to buy there. Also, there is re-gifting.
I'm pretty excited about American Idol tonight...someone might be singing one of my favorite songs ever! We shall just have to wait until tonight! UNLESS my friend Jenn's secret source in California really does text her the list of songs after the rehearsal today. That would be sweet. I'm going to DDR my butt off tonight to make up for the TWO donuts I ate on Friday. I'll stop for nothing but AMERICAN IDOL! R.I.P. Acey

I've injured my paw.

This is why, when you move into a new place, you should unpack and set everything where it's meant to be immediately. Our bedroom is still in shambles, nothing is put away and the bed frame is unassembled (with the exception of the base, which our boxspring and mattress are atop at the moment). The problem with the bed being like this is the metal jutting out at the end of the frame. Last night, I decided to play some DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) in the bedroom between the end of the bed and the dresser w/ the tv. I KICKED, with the TOP of my foot, the bed frame and I kicked it HARD. I immediately did the excruciating pain laugh - you know the one - it goes "Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-hoooooowwww"! Anyway, I have a nice little scabby on top of my foot now and it kills to walk on it. Also, I drive a standard and pushing the clutch = pain. I'm making John put the bed together this weekend, no excuses!
About 1/2 of the office staff is out today, so I get to be the shipping manager for the day which isn't as glorious as it sounds. That just means I have to package some stuff and ship it out of our system and either the FedEx or UPS system. I'd much rather stay at my desk and do my usual job of "Myspace Manager"! HA! Or "Instant Message Queen"! Jenn might give me some stiff competition on that second title!

Surprise photo!

I haven't seen my baby brother in 2 months. I suppose I need to get my ass over there and visit. They grow so fast when they're this little. He'll be a year old in June. I can't believe it's been that long already. The last time I saw him, he could just barely sit up by himself and now I hear he's not only sitting but standing (while he's holding on to stuff) and he'll walk if you hold his hands! I'm definitely going to get over there this weekend. I really can't stand my stepmother...but I'll deal with it if I get to spend some time with this little guy:
It's crazy how fast their faces change too. I can totally see my dad in that face! So go ahead, leave me comments about how cute he is!!

In case you didn't know.

I'd just like to say that waiting for your body to stop going haywire and get used to a new medication really stinks.

Matthew 28:20

Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. To me, there are no more comforting words. I worry so much about everything...I'm seriously paranoid. To those of you who know me, this is no surprise. Yet, when I remember these simple words, nothing can bother me. His presence is such a real thing that can be felt. It's peace that can't be offered by anyone or anything of this world.
I not only thank Jesus for saving me but I thank him for the comfort he provides daily, hourly, each second of my life. Even when I have fears and I forget He is with me, He is there, forever.
Praise the King of Saints!

My day with the dead (with pictures!)

I went walking today in Hope Cemetery and St. something-or-other's in Worcester, MA. The weather was awesome and I took some pictures:
This is the barbed wire fence that separates the two cemeteries. Just before I left Hope Cemetery, I saw a couple of kids jump the fence from the other cemetery into this one. I don't know why they don't just put a gate here.
I just like this one lone headstone and the broken rusty fence in the background...it's creepy.
I think this is cute. It's a little family plot under the tree.
Just a nice view...
Another nice view...
and another...
This is my favorite corner of the Cemetery. There is a Jewish section in the corner and all the stones are really neat and very close together. Someone once told me that they are buried vertically...anyone know if that's true?
I really like this:
Here's a nice long shot taken in the St. so and so's Cemetery...
This is quite possibly my favorite cemetery statue, I love it.
Here is another very nice statue...
Okay, is it just me, or does this look like Mr. Herholz? (Only like 4 or 5 of you will get this)
Here's a very hairy tree:
This is so cool:
The view from under a willow tree.
And speaking of the trees, they have faces, look:
Pouty
Howler
Grinning
Silly face
D'oh!
Tell me this is not the Easter bunny!!!
A good place to stash bodies:
One day, we all must face it.

Oh, and it will be a good Friday.

The boss called everyone outside for a meeting this morning to tell us that as a thank you for working so hard we get Friday off, paid! I'm sure I've said it before and I'm definitely going to say it again - I LOVE this place! I've never been so happy at a job before. It's so drastically different from my last job. I swear, my last boss was Hitler reincarnated. This guy is like Ghandi! I'm so happy, I'm positively giddy! Look!

Internet slavery

Forced into blogging
By a friend I've never met
Here are some haikus...

Need to highlight page
Sick of pink, yellow, orange
Just bought a purple!

I really can't stand
Sun in my morning windows
I would rather sleep.

My walls are puke pink
Pepto, pulpy, putrid pink
Like putrefaction

Dark and dangerous
City of shadows and spires
Built with hands of clay

Have you tried Lipton's
Mandarin Mango Green Tea?
It is fabulous!

You'll think I'm crazy
But American Idol
Is my favorite show.

I want to go back
But time will never let me
So I remember.

Soup is often lunch
Always canned, never homemade
Metal adds flavor :)

Just because your phone
Can play "Pop Goes the Weasel"
Doesn't mean you're cool.

John can see his toes
Whenever he puts on socks
But he won't buy more.

New beginnings

THE MOVE IS COMPLETE!
Saturday night, we got everything that was left in the old place with the help of a couple friends! It still feels a bit strange in the new place - a bit like I'm staying in a hotel or something. I'm sure it's just the new feeling and it will wear off eventually just like with anything else. We are about 50% unpacked and I am hoping we are able to get everything put away by Friday when the Direct TV people are coming. I am so glad to have my washer and dryer right in the kitchen now. I did like 5 loads of laundry yesterday! I think that's a record. I can't wait to go home tonight and do more :)
Bonus: Even though we don't have Direct TV yet, there is basic cable coming through the wires, so I will be able to watch Prison Break and 24 tonight and American Idol tomorrow! Yeah!!! Oh, and Kellie Pickler sucks!
I'm such an extremist when it comes to diet and exercise. I have such a hard time finding a balance. With the diet, I'm either totally out of control or I'm living on lettuce and water. As far as exercise, I am either a wicked lazy ass and do nothing, or I go crazy and exercise too much for a week or two until I wear myself out and then I'm lazy again. I don't know what's wrong with me. When I decide to make changes, I feel like I have to go full throttle to the extreme instead of doing it gradually. Anyway, whatever.
