I like to move it, move it.

Ahhhh moving... We have A LOT of packing and cleaning to do before April 1st. We could open a small library with the amount of books we own. So, there goes our weekends in March. I am hoping that we get the keys before April 1st so that we can start making trips over there with boxes. Luckily, we have a bunch of friends and family who have offered to help so it shouldn't be a difficult move.
We purchased a fridge and a stove on Monday night. I had terrible anxiety about spending a big chunk of money like that, but it was necessary. Once it was done, I was relieved because we don't have to worry about that anymore.
Today should be a busy/crazy day at work. The woman that runs the shipping department is off today and since I work in sales, I will be tapped to help back there. It's not bad, because it makes the day just fly by and what better way for a Friday to go but FAST! Why??? Because Friday night is Stargate night, yay!
Back to work...TA!

Everybody's got something good to say.

I can't believe this. I just typed this whole blog and lost it. Here is a synopsis:
I quit drinking Diet Coke Cherry (aka DCC) yesterday. Reason: aspartame makes migraines worse. I am quitting caffeine as well, slowly.
John and I are looking to buy a refrigerator and stove this weekend. Thankfully, mom pitched in to help offset cost.
Got rid of John's old moldy Buick Skylard and that is not a typo, I meant to call it that.
Going to choir practice early with John tonight so we can hang out with Trishy. Yay! I love being at the church, makes me happy.
That's what my blog said...basically.

In the ghetto...

John and I had a ghetto moment last night. We accidentally ran out of oil on Saturday and our oil company would not deliver until today - so they told us to put 10 gallons of diesel in our tank. We ended up using 4 gas cans for a total of 11.8 gallons and we stunk when we were finished. However, I was elated that I was able to take a HOT shower this morning. I have washed my hair in cold water before and it's the devil.

This morning, I drove into a snowbank in the center of Palmer. I was attempting to turn right into the CVS parking lot but instead of making a 90 degree turn, it ended up more like a 45 degree turn and BAM into the snow. Luckily, the snow was so light and powdery there was no damage to my car, the snow just went poof when I hit it. And my car stalled.

This day at work has gone by so quickly. I need to clean my office but I feel like it's futile because you can only make a PINK office look so good.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I guess I should probably get John something even though I already gave him a gift for Valentine's Day like 2 weeks ago. I got him Seasons 1-7 of Stargate SG-1 on dvd and I couldn't wait.

Cheers.

A brief respite from staring at my desk.

The big boss is out of town today. The office is so incredibly quiet and I've been able to tie up a bunch of loose ends with all the free time I have! I love workdays like this.
I have nothing else to write now, unless you'd like to hear about ion feedback and how it can damage an electron multiplier or contaminate your mass spectrum.

Good news, bad news and whining.

The good news is..
We got the apartment!
This means no more drug dealers living downstairs, no more carbon monoxide leaks, no more lead paint, no more fire hazards and crazy people. I can't wait. We move to the new place on April 1st. I am sending our current landlord the notice tomorrow. I guess one of the drawbacks is that we have to purchase a refrigerator and stove, but at least they'll be new just like everything else in the place! It's such a gorgeous flat and I can't wait to move in and have friends over to visit!
The bad news is I did our taxes and we owe the federal government $800! We have both made adjustments so this doesn't happen next year. With the amount we'll be giving during 2006, we better get thousands back next year!
And now, for the whining: My eyes are killing me and I'm pretty sure it's because I've been sitting in front of this computer for hours on end trying to put together a presentation. Combined with bad posture and the propensity of my head to spawn migraines, it's a recipe for pain. This would be the second migraine this week (the one I have presently) and the fifth migraine in two weeks. I have some new medication that is supposed to stop them, but it ain't working. The only thing that can take these headaches away is Relpax, which I have to score from my mother...who is an hour away. Only 2 more hours, then I can go home, relax and prepare to watch American Idol which - hold on to your seats - John might actually watch with me tonight!!!! Also, the Grammy Awards are on tonight and Project Runway. I'm such a loser for being obsessed with these reality shows, but whatever. I do my time in the intellectual world, my brain deserves these breaks!

o, UBAD?

What a great weekend.
Friday night, the hub and I stayed in and watched some 24 (season 2 dvd) and Stargate SG-1 & Stargate Atlantis. I LOVE those shows. Saturday, we finished 24 season 2 and I was tempted to go out and rent season 3...but I will wait. I don't want to be obsessive or anything!
Sunday was the most fun of the weekend. Started the day by going to church, as usual. It's always a good time. It's the best way to start the week! After church, I hung out with my friend Trish. We did a bit of shopping and then went back to her place to watch New Kids on the Block on VHS!!!! It was a riot. I went from a mature adult to a fanatical little teenybopper. Jrdan is (was) so hot! I still love NKOTB, I ain't gonna lie. It's not like they were completely devoid of talent - they were a worldwide success! Then, for some reason, they just crashed and burned. It's such a tragedy. Anyway, I had a really great time hanging out with Trish! We've been going to the same church for 2.5 years and we just recently started talking (and bonding over a love of NKOTB). I didn't realize how much we had in common and I'm sure we're going to become close friends.
Last night, John and I went to my friend Jackie's house to watch the Super Bowl. 4 of the 5 were there...wish it could have been different. I got to hang out with some of my girls and 2 husbands, 1 fiancee, 1 boyfriend and 1 baby! It was a lot of fun and I hope we can all get together more often. It just seems like everyone's so busy now that we're "adults". Full-time jobs, college, families, appointments take up all our time. I miss the days when everyone could just get together on the weekend and hang out. There's no more spontaneity in life. I'm going to try to change that in my life. I miss waking up in the morning and not knowing what I was going to end up doing...
Tonight, dinner at mom's. Tomorrow night, AI at Jenn's, unless plans change. It's Boston auditions this week! I can't wait...yaaaaay!
Back to the jorb.
