I'm a sales professional

So, I should be able to sell myself well using my resume. I'm trying to update it right now. I wish I had just kept it up to date all along...
Anyone have any tips?
I'm also toying with the idea of going back to school...but by the time I got a Bachelor's, I would be 31! Think I'm too old??? It would be easiest to just get a degree online...but the only degrees offered are mostly in Business, Education and Computer Science. I'm more interested in Science (Biology, Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry) and English. For most of the Science classes, you have to attend an actual class because sometimes there are labs involved. Anyway, you can't get those degrees online...at least not that I've found from accredited schools. If I could find some kind of English degree online, that might work. But then, what the hell am I going to do with that?
I have to do something...

A show of depreciation.

I am so mad right now. I had my yearly review today...second one since I've been working here. Last year's review was great, I got a $1.25 raise and they had no real complaints. $1.25 isn't much...but since it was my first year here, I was happy with it. Some new goals were set for 2006, etc.
My review today went great. Once again, no real complaints and I met (and far exceeded) all the goals that were set for me for 2006. I have some new goals for 2007 and was told that I was going to be "swamped" with new projects, purchasing and covering for my boss when she goes on maternity leave for 2 months. So why, pray tell, did I get a measly $0.62 raise? Less than half of what I got last year! I wanted at LEAST $1.75 raise. Who gives a $0.62 raise anyway??? Ugh.
I am mad, but that's a secondary emotion. I'm first and foremost INSULTED. I just don't get it. If what I get paid is what Jay and Sarah think I'm worth...they are nuts. I took a pay cut to work here 2 years ago with the hope that once they saw what I could do, they would surely give me a good raise. So...I'm going to take the long weekend to cool off and I'll probably go talk to my boss and the President on Tuesday about this. I will also be looking for a new job. If they are not willing to pay me what I'm worth, I will find another company that will.
Oh, and RON and ROBERT MAYO- SHHHH... You're the only ones around here that will read this.

Legume pump

It's Christmas Eve and John and I have just returned home from a family gathering (my side). We got a lot of great stuff and then we got this:
Folks, 'tis a glass shoe filled with beans.
A glass shoe.
Filled.
With beans.
What the Q?

I have the best friends in the world.

It's hard to believe it's been over ten years I've been friends with these girls! Here we are at Jenn's Christmas party on Saturday night:
...and this picture just makes me so happy, to see all of us together:
Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you spend it with loved ones!

Why meee?

I've had a major head cold for the past couple of days and I'm so annoyed with it at this point! It's mostly nasal congestion, but it's at the point where I've blown my nose so much I look like Rudolph! I so do not feel like being at work today.

Snap

It's been so busy at work lately. Everyone is required to work 1 hour overtime per day this entire week. Originally, I think it was just going to be the manufacturing people, but they decided to make it mandatory for everyone. It's better this way anyway - if the manufacturing people had to do it and office people didn't, there would be an uproar, I'm sure of it.
I'm working on a new project with someone else and it involves a LOT of counting of small parts. We are going to be making an assembly for one of our customers and the company that used to do it sent us all their leftover inventory. We got two huge wooden crates yesterday that have been sealed (I mean nailed, screwed AND bolted) shut since the 80's. I thought I was done counting parts but we found a whole box inside one of the crates full of more parts. UGH. Well, I finished counting all but one of the parts yesterday...the only one left is so tiny there's no way to count it by hand, I'll have to use a scale.
Near the end of the day yesterday, I received an order with a request to ship it asap. Since everyone was so busy, I knew there was no way the person in shipping was going to do it, so I had to go back there and ship it. I was rushing because UPS was going to be here soon and I totally snapped at one of my coworkers. The stress got to me. She was back there packaging something right next to me and I put down the tape gun for one second and instead of using the other one on the counter, she picked up the one I had been using AS I was reaching to pick it up again. I just said, "What the hell?!?!" She said, "Oh, would you relax!". I wanted to punch something, or her... Anyway, I went over and grabbed the other one. 99% of the time, I get along with this girl, but sometimes, she just PISSES me off.

The Big Apple!

Yay! I'm so excited! Tomorrow, I will be going (along with my mother and John) to Manhattan for the day! We are leaving from my work at 6am and taking a bus into the city. I think we'll have a good 8 hours to go exploring so if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! My mother has never been to New York City, so she is pretty excited as well.

Birthdays

Today is my daddy's birthday, Sunday is mine. Here we are back in the day...in 1980. Check out those leg rolls!
Awww!

Reality check.

Life is far too short and fragile to not spend time with your family.
