Sufi soul

John and I watched a documentary last night on Sufi worship and how they integrate music. It was really interesting and we are seriously considering checking this festival out sometime in the next few years. That is if I can force myself onto a plane.

Prozium, anyone?

The older I get, the more thought-full I get and I really can't stand it sometimes. I miss being carefree, with no worries or real fears. I'm not going to say that I was happy 100% of the time before, but when I was 'down' it wasn't about anything big. Ever since Death, Fear Of wedged its way into my skull a year ago, those 'down' times can be pretty intense.
I want to be 8 again. I miss NES & NKOTB .

Thith thuckth

Note to self: Muscle relaxers not meant to be taken at work. Do not.
I feel something like Jell-O, only much heavier. Weak in the knees and like my face is numb. My tongue feels...large.

VH1

I'll admit it, I watch VH1 when I'm getting ready for work in the morning. (Or, I used to until I realized one channel up on the dial is VH1 classic videos in the morning and I much prefer what they show on there)
Anyhoo, VH1 pimps these new artists using their "you oughta know" grouping...and usually I'm not that impressed with them. Cases in point: Regina Spektor (Sorry Ron, I gave her a try and I just can't dig it), Corinne Bailey Rae - what is she doing that a million other soft spoken girls with a guitar can't do?, and K.T. Tunstall...it's nothing new.
However, sometimes they get it right. Amy Winehouse, who I had read plenty about on PerezHilton.com but never heard, is one of their new "you oughta know" artists and she is the bomb biggity, for really-reals. (I mean come on, she uses the word 'fuckery' (as in, "What kind of fuckery is this?") and manages to make it sound classy! ) Also, they are pimping this kid Paolo Nutini, he's 20 and I feel like such a sucker for liking the song "New Shoes" but it's so catchy and it makes me happy...lol

You know, that really grinds my gears.

Why am I the ONLY person in the entire [EXPLETIVE DELETED] company who knows how to get pictures
From: digital camera
To: network
??????
You plug the wire into the camera and guess what?!?! A window pops up asking if you want to open the folder to view the files. If you can't figure it out from there, you're [EXPLETIVE DELETED] retarded.

Woohoo!

Just bought two tickets to see Loreena McKennitt next weekend at the Wang! I didn't even know she was on tour! So excited!

giggle

I pass this sign every time I drive to work:
It's wrong, but it's so funny. It's been like this for well over a year.

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I should have worn earplugs last night. My ears are loud today. We saw Peeping Tom last night at the Paradise in Boston and it was such a good show. I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't really excited to go because I listened to the cd and although I liked a couple of songs, it just didn't grow on me. However, live, it was the bomb. For me, the catch-22 with club shows is that it's great to be up close and personal with the bands, but not with asshole drunks in the crowd where the temperature is high and oxygen levels low. Last night was worth dealing with the crowd...because Mike Patton is crazy good.
That is all.
