We left North Brookfield around 7pm. A quick stop at Wal-Mart & the BK Lounge and we were on our way...hoping to at least make it to VA tonight. Well...part of the way through NY, the storm hit us and for the past 4 hours we've been doing MAX 40mph through a few inches of snow. What cars we did see were all slamming on their brakes like such:

it kinda sucked - but we kept ourselves entertained singing along to Chumbawumba, Garbage, Rammstein, Disturbed, Morrissey, Yes, Kansas and a bunch of other stuff shuffling through my M. We must have passed at least 15 cars that were either off the road, on the edge of the road, or surrounded by emergency vehicles and all smashed up. People need to learn how to drive in snow or stay home! We finally did make it to PA:

We are here at the Red Roof Inn of Wilkes-Barre, PA...which was recently remodeled and looks rather clean (though nothing changes the fact that we will be sleeping in a bed that countless others have...with all their sweat and drool and other assorted nastiness). And hey - for $65, I'm not complaining! But check the decor:

I'm not quite sure what's happening here...there is also a chair (not shown) which is blue with red polka dots. This bedspread is mesmerizing...check the closeup:

...it looks like some kind of disease culture. I wonder if I should take this as a sign and sleep in the car.

Tomorrow night we're aiming for Memphis, TN (weather-permitting)! Nashville, at least.
