I am entertained.

I had quite an entertaining weekend. For starters, John and I beat:

Of course, we did start this one a while ago and played here and there. We finished it up Sunday afternoon and went on to start the sequel:

Which we beat in like, 3 hours. It was ridiculously short and very disappointing. Also, this game ripped off God of War majorly. We're used to these games lasting much, MUCH longer than that. Now we have no 2 player co-op rpg's left! What are we gonna do? John says he's excited for Diablo III and there will be co-op on that game. Yay!
In addition to the gaming, my weekend involved a lot of movie watching. Some, I watched on my laptop at home and others we saw in the theater. Here's what I saw:

Nim's Island
I thought Gerard Butler-I mean-this movie was really cute. Highly unrealistic and definitely for the younger crowd yet pleasantly entertaining. Jodie Foster's character in this is hilarious. 6/10

August Rush
It's a great story, but it was really the acting that won me here. Being a fan of The Tudors, I knew Jonathan Rhys Meyers was a great actor already and it was neat to see him in a completely different role. And Freddie Highmore...well he acts better than any kid should be able. He's got some great interaction with Jonathan and with Robin Williams here. This might be a chick flick...warning. 8/10

Wanted
Loved it. It had some neat (and original) action scenes & tricks and a great humorous streak through it. The lead character was equal parts geek and badass and anyone like that is cool with me. lol 7/10

Mongol
This is a different look at Genghis Khan's rise to power. Made in Kazakhstan, they did a great job with the look of the film and examining the sociological impact of love and war. We saw it in the "Cine Art" section of Showcase North in Worcester. I'm so glad they've started showing foreign & independent films there. I've missed them so much since the unfortunate passing of the Bijou. ::moment of silence:: 8/10

Wall-E
Okay, this was SO cute! I thought it would be a little more environmental activism-y than it was and for that I was thankful. I wasn't interested in seeing an animated "Day After Tomorrow" and that it was not. I loved the characters and the story was great. John commented that he'd see it again because there are probably a lot of subtle things you'd miss the first time around. I agree. 8/10

Jumper
I know this movie got some bad reviews when it came out, but I really enjoyed it. I am beginning to think maybe I'm a little too easy to please when it comes to movies. Hayden Christensen and Samuel L. Jackson are fantastic in this. It's good, fun, sci-fi action and I hope they go ahead with a sequel. 7/10

Untraceable
I got this because my mother recommended it. It was good for what it was...you know your run-of-the-mill action/drama/suspense involving the Internet...dum dum dummmmm. Okay story, borrowing conceptually from Saw and all the "danger on the 'net" movies out there. Nothing new. 5/10.

The Spiderwick Chronicles
Again with Freddie Highmore, he's just so good! I knew nothing about the story or the movie when I watched it and I thought it was really cute. It certainly wasn't a Harry Potter rip-off...if anything, it was more in the vein of Labyrinth. The creatures look great and this is wide open for some sequel action. 7/10
And now, back to work. Funny story about work - late last week and today, I have noticed an odd chemical-ish smell in the office. The closest thing I could compare it to was Raid...you know, the wasp & hornet stuff. Well...this morning I started freaking out, being the paranoid person I am because I wanted to know what the hell I was inhaling! Well...a couple hours later as I sat coloring in blocks on an Excel sheet with a Sharpie...I realized what the smell was...LOL Mmmmm, Sharpie! Who me, slack? Never.
