Wow. I can't believe I haven't blogged since January. I wish I had been blogging this whole time - it would be nice to have a written history of events. :)
Not much happened the first few months of the year. Jan-Feb-Mar. Pretty uneventful, as those months usually are.
In April, my Nana passed away from lung cancer. We knew it was coming and she went peacefully in her sleep. I was very thankful for that. My Papa had checked on her, found her sleeping quietly, went in the kitchen to make a cup of coffee, came back and she was gone. I had hoped my Nana would make it to meet my first child, but I don't decide on the timing for these things. We had a nice little wake/funeral for her and that was that.
In May, I became pregnant. Finally, what John and I had waited so long for (4+ years) and prayed so hard for was a reality! I was filled with all kinds of emotions from excitement to fear to uncertainty to anticipation! 6.5 weeks in, we were able to see our little baby with a beautiful little beating heart. It was only centimeters long at that point and it was amazing to me to see that heart pumping away. Everything has gone well so far. The only symptom I have that is bothersome is heart palpitations. I have been to the doctor and they tell me it's simply due to the increase in blood in the body during pregnancy. I was really disturbed by them at first - it feels like my heart skips a beat - but I have learned to live with them. They are nowhere near as bad as they were when they started anyway. I'm hoping in a few more weeks they'll be just about gone! :) As of this Saturday, I will be 19 weeks along. We have a checkup tomorrow where we'll get to hear the heartbeat (this will be the 3rd time). Also, we have an ultrasound scheduled for Wed, 09/09/09 and we are hoping our little baby cooperates and we can tell whether it's a he or a she! I can feel a big hard bump under my bellybutton...feels like a big squash or something in there! Also, I have felt movement over the past couple weeks.
I quit my job at DeTech because it was too stressful. Now, I'm working back at Lundgren Honda doing light accounting and answering phones. Waaayyyyy less stress!
Aaaaaannndd....We're headed to Brooklyn this weekend to visit with John's sister Theresa! I'm really looking forward to getting away from MA for a few days!
