10/30/06

Yesterday, John and I celebrated two years of marriage! We spent a good part of the day out walking around and taking pictures. We went to this place we knew of in Shrewsbury that used to be all overgrown but has now been partly cleared and turned into a park. We call it the Garden of Sweet Remembrance because on one of the structures, it says that. It's now Prospect Park (apparently, home of the "Prosp Mafia") See:

Jerks.
Here is the main building:

Isn't it gorgeous?!? I actually broke out the analog camera yesterday and took this with my macro lens.
I didn't actually put my foot in it for fear of West Nile crawling onto me!

...and that's Orly Cherry Bomb on my pasty white feet in case anyone cares...lol I LOVE that nail polish!

I found this orangey filter in my camera bag, so I tried a few shots with it on the lens....the first is my favorite:

That pool is in between the garden building and the wall & stairs. Last time we were there, it was empty and kids were skateboarding in it.
Here are some nice pictures we took on the way to the garden:
Don't forget to look up!

And we saw this on the gate as we were leaving:

::giggle::
After we left there, we drove up to the Worcester State Mental Hospital which has been shut down for some time and people like to say it's haunted. It is an absolutely beautiful bunch of buildings.
And, my favorite, the main building. It sits atop a huge hill and you can see it from a pretty good distance...I think it's gorgeous.

I want to buy it, renovate it and live there.
Oh, and I found an old disposable camera from our wedding and honeymoon and got it developed with the rest of the film. This is the only picture worth showing. It's a statue of Whistler's Mother near Centralia, PA
It really was a fantastic day yesterday.
