I'm sick of the media (TV, Internet, Newspapers, Magazines) and their fearmongering when it comes to health issues!
Yesterday, I was on Google News and I read the Health headlines. One said:
"Vitamin D linked to Breast Cancer"
So, immediately, I'm thinking, oh great, I drink milk, does that mean I'm more likely to get Breast Cancer?!?! That is what the headline would have you think.
After reading the article, I see that it's actually about how British scientists have discovered that Vitamin D actually SLOWS or PREVENTS Breast Cancer. Tell me the title wasn't written to freak people out.
And, this isn't an isolated thing. It's everywhere now. I was reading Forbes magazine the other day and came to a page that said something like 30% of americans will develop Cardiovascular Disease! It's the #1 health problem in America! Now, if you ask me, CVD being the #1 health problem sounds pretty good. We are humans, and eventually, our hearts are all going to stop beating. If that's the number one health problem, we're doing okay. ANYWAY - there's this page which is obviously trying to make people fearful. Turn the page, and it turns out it's an ad for almonds. So, basically, eat almonds or you're gonna die. Real nice.
