One thing I am really good at is getting rid of telemarketers that call the office. A lot of people like to put them on hold forever or just hang up on them. But, a lot of times they just call back. This unknown company has been calling for the past couple of days trying to sell us copy machine supplies (one of the most common telemarketing calls we get) and I just had this conversation with the guy:
"Hey, this is Bill calling, how are you today?"
>"I'm alright."
"Happy Tuesday."
>"Okay."
"I'm calling from Customer Service for the Ricoh to see how many toners you guys have on hand."
>"Oh yeah? What company are you calling from?"
"For your Ricoh machine, Customer Service."
>"Okay, hold on."
>"I'm alright."
"Happy Tuesday."

"I'm calling from Customer Service for the Ricoh to see how many toners you guys have on hand."
>"Oh yeah? What company are you calling from?"
"For your Ricoh machine, Customer Service."
>"Okay, hold on."
~At this point, I went to check with Kim and find out the name of the company where we purchased the machine, because they handle all the supplies and there is a website they can check to see what we've got for toner.~
>"Hello?"
"Yes sir, uh, m'am, sorry..."
>"Where are you calling from again?"
"Oh, from the Service and Distribution Center."
>"No, what company? Can you tell me the name of your company?"
"Well, that could be one of 15 companies in the area."
>"No, it's one company that we purchased the machine from and they handle all our supplies and can check everything via a website."
"Well, what are you trying to say?"
>"I'm saying, I know you're a telemarketer and we don't need anything from you."
"Oh, okay."
"Yes sir, uh, m'am, sorry..."
